Tour Itinerary

Duration: 4 hours, lunch or dinner time.
To be like a local, challenge your cooking skill at a local home.

Morning class: 8.00 – 13.00
Afternoon class: 15.00 – 20.00

Start the tour from your hotel and drive 5 minutes to Awesome Homestay with Scenic View restaurant and very peaceful atmosphere on the Red River bank. The hosts will warmly welcome you and introduce their members, exchange the cultures and way of life. Our tour guide then teach you some simple phrases “local language” in 30 minutes, which will help you shopping, bargaining and spending the currency “VND” with the friendly sellers at the market.

You then start cycling (or walking) to the local market only 5 minutes, It’s great chance to buy local things by yourself and experience a variety of foods from all the groceries such as: herbs, spices, vegetables, meats, fishes, fruits which are so fresh. All things bring you very close to the simple life (herbs and spices are a very important part of authentic Vietnamese food), you will have fun time to communicate and use body language with locals, incredible and unforgettable memories. Prepare yourself for our fascinating home cooking class.

Then we come back our home to prepare and cook by yourself under the instruction of the tour guide or the household from the beginning to the end, learning how to marinate and to spice will be the most crucial lesson. You will also enjoy decorating dishes with carrot flowers, lemon grass stems, banana leaves and curved chili. The authentic magical sauce mixed from fish sauce, water, sugar, lime, chili, garlic and herbs is very easy to make.

Enjoy your meal at the ideal dining place with wonderful view of the Red River and Eiffel bridge (Long Bien bridge) – Hanoi’s most iconic landmarks.

After a full meal, bid farewell to the family home and our tour guide will transfer you back your hotel.
